Y1 concluded their latest Computing unit ‘Digital Writers’ this week!
Over the last half term they have shown great confidence when using the keyboard focusing on certain keys (space bar, backspace, arrow keys, caps lock) and then moved on to changing their text using the tools on the tool bar (bold, italic, underline, font, font colour and font size). At the beginning of the unit we had a lot of thumbs down during self assessment when asked how confident they were with the keyboard and it was amazing to see almost all thumbs up today!!
As a special treat for working so hard in Computing so far this year. They were allowed a special 10 minute treat at the end to choose any program used so far in Y1! Many chose a paint program and were able to use the skills learned all the way back in the Autumn and Spring term.
