This week we have been celebrating cultural diversity when exploring the countries England, Australia, Romania, China, India and Kenya.
For England, we watched a video all about the royal family and located different London Landmarks, before designing our own crowns.
For Australia, we watched a video all about key landmarks and animals, before making our own fairy bread... it was delicious!
For Romania, we learnt about the tradition of giving friends and family members a Mărțișor to welcome the beginning of spring. We then cut out our own flowers, attaching a red and white bow.
For China, we learnt about wildlife and created blossom trees using pink paint and the bottom of plastic bottles for printing.
For India, we learnt some Bollywood dance moves, shared photographs and jewellery brought in by our peers, and completed our own Mendhi hand templates.
For Kenya, we shared the story of Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne and put our cutting and sticking skills to the test to make our own fruit bowls.
One of our friends in the Sparrows was even kind enough to bring in some Mikate for us to try. It was a wonderful treat to share following such a busy and exciting week of activities.
