The Wagtails have enjoyed learning about VE Day and finding out why the 8th May 1945 was such a significant date. We have been discovering more about what life was like for people in the UK, especially in London during the war and the impact that the war had in so many different aspects of life. We discussed how hard it would have been for both the soldiers and their families and how children were evacuated to other parts of the UK. We reflected on our whole school assembly and perfectly observed the 2 minutes silence as we remembered those who fought for our freedom.
