Today the children in the Wrens have enjoyed learning all about VE Day. They explored the reason why we were all wearing red, white and blue clothing and especially enjoyed sharing a VE Day lunch menu. We discussed how many soldiers fought for their country, how children had to evacuate to the countryside for their safety and who Winston Churchill was and how he announced the end of the War on the 8th May 1945. In class, the children enjoyed making their own posters, bunting and flags and listening to music to mark this special day.
