The Sparrows have spent this half term revising all the previously learned phonemes, segmenting and blending to read and write words and sentences independently. Although no new phonemes have been learned this half term, the children have continued to learn new sight words which are included in their dictated sentences.
It has been lovely to see how secure the children are becoming with these sounds and how quickly they are able to spot different digraphs and trigraphs within words. We have also been working on letter formation and distinguishing between our tall and short letters whilst sitting the letters correctly on the line. The children have lots to think about but they are making us so proud with their readiness, resilience and enthusiasm.
