Today, the children in Woodpeckers have been busy creating their very own fruit salads in our Design and Technology (DT) lesson!
We started by researching different types of fruit and exploring which ones we might like to include in our salads. The children shared their preferences, discussed their favourite fruits and thought carefully about which combinations would taste delicious.
Next, it was time to put our plans into action! We practised using important safety techniques when cutting fruit, including the claw grip and bridge hold, to help us handle our tools safely and confidently.
Once our fruit was chopped and ready, the children assembled their colourful creations and, best of all, got to enjoy eating their very own fruit salads! 🍇🍊🍎
We are so proud of the children for their fantastic teamwork, creativity and growing independence.
