Cultural Diversity Week in EYFS

May 20, 2026

EYFS have been celebrating cultural diversity all this week. Each afternoon, we have looked at a different country ranging from England to Kenya and even Australia. The children were then able to choose which activities they wanted to take part in, each based around the different countries.

We had Mendi hands, painted blossom trees, made fairy bread, designed our own crowns and shields, cut and stick our own fruit baskets like in Handa's Surprise, drew flags from different countries and even created our own and build landscapes from different countries with shavin foam and pool noodles. We had a lot of Leaning Towers of Pisa! The fairy bread was also a popular choice and all the children thoroughly enjoyed tasting their creations.

Thank you to all parents who sent videos/photos in to celebrate their own persoanl culture, the children have enjoyed sharing these. Don't forget to come dressed in clothing that is personal to your culture tomorrow (Thursday 21st May).
