This week in EYFS we have been practising using our segmenting and blending skills to write CVC/CCVC words on laminated coloured spots so we could wipe any mistakes away and keep on trying as part of working on building our resilience (plus laminated spots are much more exciting than whiteboards!!). We are also practising our sight words, reading, spelling and writing them but again, sometimes writing with pens and pencils gets boring so this week we are painting a sight word wall. It's definitely becoming one of the favourite activities down in EYFS.
During our afternoon sessions we have been using the junk modelling resources parents very kindly sent in to make all different concoctions, we have had houses, jet packs and even a golf bag! We even used shaving foam to practise forming letters and writing words. Today, we incorporated both writing and numbers into a game of bowling, adding names to the list and recording how many skittles were knocked down. Lots of fun can be had whilst learning at the same time.
