Y1 have started the Summer term becoming Digital Writers during their Computing lessons. This week our new unit was introduced by revising all the different parts of a computer that was taught in the Autumn term. This half term they will be focussing on the keyboard and began with a quick activity of finding the letters in their names on a paper keyboard and colouring each key in. They then moved on to the chrome books and were encouraged to find all the letters , write their name and a friend’s name. As a challenge, children were asked to write a sentence. We looked at the space bar, back space and enter keys to help them.
At the end of the lesson many children self assessed themselves as not very confident locating and using a keyboard and we are excited to see those thumbs turn upwards over the next few weeks as their confidence grows! We can’t wait to share our work with you along the way!
