This week the children in Reception have been reading "How to grow a Dinosaur" by Caryl Hart. Today we used "real" dinosaur seeds to plant our very own in the classroom. This caused great excitement throughout the day, with many of the children checking our plant pot, to see if the dinosaur had started growing.
When the children returned from the canteen at lunchtime, they were shocked to find the dinosaur had grown and ESCAPED! They couldn't believe the mess that had been left behind and spent the rest of their lunchtime play and afternoon classroom activities looking for clues. Some of the clues that were reported back to the teachers were: bones found on the climbing frame and dinosaur footprints in the mud kitchen.
