Today, as part of our Mental Health Week activities, the children in EYFS took part in a wonderfully calming sound bath and yoga session with Serene Mind. It was a wonderful experience that gave the children the opportunity to slow down, be present, and explore ways to manage their feelings.
Through gentle yoga movements and guided breathing, the children learned how to tune into their bodies and notice how they were feeling. They then relaxed quietly while listening to the soothing sounds of chime bars and singing bowls.
We also spent time talking about “big emotions", what they might feel like and how we can manage them. Together, we practiced simple breathing techniques that the children can use whenever they need to find their calm again. To help us continue this important work, Danielle from Serene Mind kindly gifted each class a Brave Light Jar.
