Y2 Programmers Completed

February 11, 2025

To finish our third Computing unit of Y2, the children were able to use their own mats to create different routes. They all added their own obstacles and had to choose a starting and finishing point for their Beebot, plan a route and then test it out. To challenge the children, they then had to add in a stop.

This week they also learned about debugging and many children had the opportunity to do this during their route planning. The main mistakes they found were forgetting to press clear before giving the Beebot the next commands, turning left instead of right or vice versa and giving incorrect directions and ending up at an obstacle. All of the children were able to fix their mistakes and therefore have proved to be excellent Programmers who also have a great ability to debug!

Well done Y2! Very proud of you.
