Y1 are officially Programmers

February 12, 2025

This half term Y1 have been Programmers, learning how to program the Beebots to follow directions and move from different places on a mat.

For the final 2 weeks, they’ve been planning and creating algorithms from a start point to a finishing point and debugging any problems that occur along the way. They’ve also looked in to creating more than one route with the same outcome and making an extra stop in the middle using the cards provided.

It has been amazing to watch how they’ve moved from not knowing what to do with a Beebot to actually navigating them around a mat and explaining errors and algorithms. Well done Y1! Very proud!
