This week in history and art we have been learning about Ruby Bridges and Jean Michel Basquiat. The children discovered how Ruby Bridges was only six years old , the same age as some of the Puffins when she helped to change the course of history by becoming the first Black child to go to an all-white school. The children were in awe of her bravery. In art the pupils enjoyed creating a piece of artwork in the style of Jean-Michel Basquiat telling a story with colour, shapes and ideas just like he did. We listened to music as we worked to support our creative flare. After we wandered around our art gallery and admired the work.
