The Wrens had a wonderful time releasing our beautiful butterflies this week, after watching their incredible life cycle unfold. We carefully observed them grow from tiny caterpillars into big, hungry caterpillars before they transformed inside their chrysalises. It was so exciting to see them finally emerge as beautiful butterflies!
We loved looking after our butterflies by offering them water and juicy fruit and we enjoyed discovering how butterflies feed, smell and move. Through our observations and investigations, we really became minibeast detectives, learning lots about these amazing creatures and the important role they play in nature.
Although we were a little sad to say goodbye to our butterfly friends, we knew it was time for them to spread their wings, explore the world around them and become part of nature.
