This half term, the Kingfishers have been diving into the world of Paul Morrison, a contemporary artist known for his striking monochrome artwork inspired by botanical landscapes.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the variety of lines Morrison uses in his work. Using chalks, they experimented with horizontal lines, vertical lines, cross-hatching, and many other techniques to understand how different types of line can create texture and depth.
To finish off our art unit, the children used chalk pens on black paper to create their own Paul Morrison inspired masterpieces. The results are brilliant, full of imagination, detail, and a deep appreciation for nature and linework.
Well done, Kingfishers! What amazing artists you are!
