🎶 Music of the Term: Influential Black Musicians 🎶
This month in music, we are celebrating the incredible contributions of influential Black musicians. Miss Holden launched the theme in assembly, where we learned about three amazing artists whose talent and creativity have inspired people all around the world.
✨ Billy Ocean – Known for his soulful voice and catchy hits, Billy Ocean brought Caribbean rhythm and style into mainstream pop music. His songs are still loved today for their energy and joy.
✨ Sade – With her smooth, timeless voice and unique style, Sade has touched hearts worldwide. Her music blends soul, jazz, and R&B, making her one of the most iconic voices of her time.
✨ Winifred Atwell – A pioneering pianist, Winifred Atwell broke barriers in music. Famous for her incredible piano performances, she became the first Black artist in the UK to have a number one hit.
