The Woodpeckers Visit the Church

December 09, 2025

The Woodpeckers had a wonderful visit to All Saints Church this week as part of our RE learning. The children were excited to explore the building and learn more about the Christmas story in a real church setting.

We listened carefully as we heard the story of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, and the children asked thoughtful questions about the Nativity and why Christmas is such an important celebration for Christians.

During our visit, we also spotted some special features of the church, including:

  • The font – where baptisms take place
  • The lectern – where the Bible is read during services
  • The organ – which plays music to accompany hymns

The children loved looking closely at these features and talking about what they are used for. They behaved beautifully and represented the school brilliantly.

A big thank you to All Saints Church for welcoming us and helping us learn more about the Christmas story. Well done, Woodpeckers!
